Taiwan Straits Network – May 31 (Straits Herald Reporter Guo Bingde; Correspondent Wang Suzhen; Wen/ Picture) A sudden oil spill at sea is always a troublesome matter, but don’t worry now – help is at hand.

On the afternoon of the 26th of May, a professional oil-spill emergency recovery ship (also known as a self-propelled oil harvester) arrived at the Quanshan Taishan Solid Wharf to conduct a launch test on the same day.
With a length of 16.75 meters, a width of 4.7 meters, and a maximum speed of 18 knots, the “Quanhai Special Service 01” is currently the largest and most advanced self-propelled oil skimmer on the coast of Fujian. Relevant acceptance work will be completed shortly to prepare this advanced oil skimming vessel for regular use in the public and private sectors.
